Metallica doom trio Weltesser have dropped the official video for their debut single “Rats”. Vocalist/guitarist Nate Peterson said of the song:
“‘Rats’ is one of the key pieces in starting this band. One of the more straightforward songs, has more feeling than some others for me. This album is centered around the harder times and the emotions that came with them. ‘Rats’ is about growing up in a punk scene and seeing some of my friends, the people I looked up to, do shitty things and gossip about other people. It really spiraled, which affected the DIY music scene. Watching my friends and the music scene fall apart changed me as a person. We all were on the same page when it was being written, and it still holds value to us so we wanted to rerecord it for the LP.”
The track appears on the group’s forthcoming Prosthetic Records debut Crestfallen, which arrives February 10th. Pre-orders are now available at Prosthetic’s webshop and the group’s Bandcamp.
