Official press release:
Shadowside are pleased to announce the addition of former Hammerfall bassist Magnus Rosén. Formed by vocalist Dani Nolden, guitarist Raphael Mattos, and drummer Fabio Buitvidas, Shadowside welcomes Rosén, recognized for his several world tours and several albums with Hammerfall, in addition to being awarded with Gold records and a Grammy nomination. Rosén has recorded albums with Jorn Lande, Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath) and recently released his 10th solo studio album The World Changes, recorded with musicians who have performed with Hammerfall, Black Sabbath, ABBA, Yngwie Malmsteen and more.
Magnus Rosén comments on joining Shadowside:
“I’ve been away from the metal stage for more than eight years! Metal has a great energy that I miss and love, and I think Shadowside performs just the kind of metal that fits my style! Also, I’ve always liked Brazil/South America – after nine Hammerfall tours and solo bass tours in this part of world, I am confident and looking forward to joining the band. I’ve got few new, powerful song ideas from the band that I think will be loved by fans. I can’t wait to get the wheels moving forward!”
Shadowside’s singer Dani Nolden also commented on the inclusion of Rosén and what this means for the band:
“Magnus is someone we admire greatly and it is an honor to work with him, not only because of his great skills as a bass player but also because he has incredible experience with many different and special projects. We felt he would be a perfect match for us and we’re thrilled that he accepted our invitation to join the band. We can’t wait to start recording and get this show on the road. It’s going to be amazing!”
Rosén is already participating in the songwriting process for Shadowside’s upcoming full-length album, which is once again set to be recorded between June and August 2016 in Gothenburg, Sweden with renowned producer Fredrik Nordstrom. Nordstrom worked with the band on their acclaimed Inner Monster Out album that garnered awards in Brazil and worldwide, such as the Independent Music Awards as “Best Hardcore/Metal Album”. The album hit #26 on the Japanese charts according to BURRN! Magazine and #9 on CMJ’s Loud Rock USA radio charts. The Inner Monster Out Tour included over 60 shows and visited 18 countries.
Shadowside will announce new details on their upcoming album soon.
