Official press release:

After six years as a band, multiple tours, Vans Warped Tour performances, and two national releases; Virginia post-hardcore band Pyro, Ohio has decided to call it quits.

The band has issued the following statement:

“It is with heavy hearts we announce that Pyro, Ohio will no longer continue on together as a band. A few months ago we came to the realization that we weren’t treating this band with the passion and drive that we started out with, and we failed multiple times to reignite that flame. Sometimes life just happens like that – we truly wish it wasn’t the case. You have given us all some of our lives most memorable and lasting experiences. You are the reason we’ve lasted this long. We’ll be playing a few last shows at our favorite locales before we sign off (dates and venues to be announced). Know that we extend all our gratitude to the very many who have shown us undying support over the past six years. To those who shared their couches and floors with us, our mentors and friends in the industry and other bands, and to everyone who has see us live or even just listened to us once online – we can’t thank you enough for letting us be a part of your lives. Those friendships won’t stop here, as our bonds as band-mates will continue on, but as much as it pains us we have to close this chapter of our lives and give this band the closure it needs – hopefully seeing as many of you as possible through that process.”

Pyro, Ohio’s final shows will be announced via social media in the coming weeks. For those new to the band, here’s a music video from their most recent release, 2015’s Keepsakes.

Keepsakes is available on Bandcamp and iTunes. Listen to Keepsakes in full here.
