The countdown that was on Lamb Of God’s new website lambofgodvii.com has ended to reveal a brand new track titled “Still Echoes”, which you can stream at the aforementioned site and above. Speaking to Rolling Stone, frontman Randy Blythe said of the track and album:
“The song is a history of [Prague’s] Pankrác Prison…
There was a guillotine right down the hall from me, from when the Nazis had the prison. From 1943 to 1945 they executed almost 2,000 people by the guillotine, because it was cheaper than shooting and quicker than hanging…
People shouldn’t expect a prison record. But I write about things that affect me very deeply. And going to prison in a foreign country and being charged with manslaughter will affect you – trust me – very deeply.”
The band are working with producer Josh Wilbur on the new album, which will be titled VII: Sturm Und Drang. The record is set for release this July through Epic Records; pre-order bundles available now at this location.
