A couple of weeks ago, Hate Eternal bandleader Erik Rutan injured his left hand on while on tour, forcing the band to drop off what remained of the dates with Deicide. After consulting a doctor, the vocalist/guitarist was advised against using his hand at all. He has now issued a statement regarding his progress and mentioned that a fall tour of the U.S. and Canada is currently in the works. Here’s his statement:

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has reached out to me about my hand and fingers injury. I am so grateful to have such an amazing support team around me and I appreciate all of you. The Doctor said it will take 3-4 weeks from the date of the injury for healing and he feels very confident in my full recovery! My left hand, pinky and ring finger are still swollen but I have regained motion back in my two fingers and can bend them now, an improvement from last week. I am doing everything the Doctor says and it is getting better every single day. Hate Eternal is working on a US/Canadian tour for the Fall so hope to see you all out there once again! I feel so very fortunate to have such incredible family, friends, and fans who have undying and unwavering support for me and Hate Eternal. Thank you all for the kind words of encouragement. You guys are the best!!!! Cheers!
Sincerely,
RUTAN

PS.- Your overwhelming praise of the new songs released off of Infernus sure has perked me up!

The band’s new album Infernus (Season Of Mist) is scheduled for an August 21st release. The band have released two songs off the effort so far titled “Pathogenic Apathy” and “The Stygian Deep”
