GAEREA is nothing short of a beautiful enigma rooted in musical extremity and utter passion. In just under a decade, the masked collective, born in the Portuguese town of Porto, has navigated countless darkened shades of metal, post-rock and artistry. Today they usher in a new era with the announcement of their signing to global metal powerhouse Century Media Records.
With the signing news comes GAEREA’s powerful label debut “Submerged” alongside its accompanying video which captures a singular being submerged in an ocean of thoughts. The single which was produced by the band and longtime collaborator, Miguel Tereso of Demigod Recordings, further entwines the thorny branches of musical and emotional possibility that the band has built their reputation on, both live and on record.
GAEREA are currently working on their next studio album, due for release in early 2026. Recent months have seen them bringing their energized and expressionistic live show to stages all over North America, Europe, headlining to sold out crowds as well as festivals including Czech’s Brutal Assault, Belgium’s Alcatraz and Germany’s Summer Breeze. This Fall, GAEREA will join labelmates, Orbit Culture as support across UK and Europe.
