Official press release:
Following its sordid inaugural booking last year, Portland, Oregon-based anti-fest dubbed Festicide makes its revolting return this year, bigger and badder than before. From August 21st – 23rd, the melee will see nine shows invading nine venues across the city, with a total of thirty bands set to play, including Aerial Ruin, Danava, Drunk Dad, Ephemeros, Gaytheist, Muscles And Marrow, Rabbits and many others.
Eolian Empire has once again joined forces with local DIY bookers Chris Control, Robert Komets, and David Rose to throw another Festicide. Since last year’s event, the yuppie/yuccie invasion of the town has (coincidentally?) coincided with the shutdown of more than a half dozen underground venues across Portland. But they have a lot of new condos… The newly revamped MFNW is back again bland as ever, and Project Pabst swooped in to fill the rock n roll void with another corporate sponsored event. What are the promoters gonna do about it? Throw the second annual, independent ANTI-fest! Thirty Portland bands playing nine big shows (both matinee and night events) at nine small venues on Friday, August 21st, Saturday, August 22nd and Sunday, August 23rd, with All-Ages events DAILY and a Sunday record swap! All shows are $5 or free, no wristband needed!
This year’s Festicide has been booked with an even more diverse selection of bands than last year, and the nine venues have been selected so it’s a little easier to hit multiple shows per day/night. The nine venues helping host the event include Black Water Bar, High Water Mark, Killingworth Dynasty, Anarres Infoshop, Foggy Notion, Star Bar, American Legion Post 134, The Know, and the World Famous Kenton Club.
The full list of acts set to perform includes: A Volcano / Aerial Ruin / Blowout / Bobby Peru / Danava / Dark/Light / Deadwitch / Drunk Dad / Ephemeros / Faith Twain / Gaytheist / Honduran / Hurry Up / Jeny Don’t And The Spurs / Long Knife / Mall Caste / More Hell / Muscles And Marrow / Nasalrod / Numbered / Private Room / Rabbits / Sad Horse / Sancho / The Woolen Men / Thee Last Go Round / Tiny Knives / Uncool Niece / Vice Device / VX Gas Attack
