Vocalist Michael Wells said of the track:
“Eidola has always been an exploration of the human condition. Of suffering, love, loss, rebirth, and the relentless pursuit of understanding something greater than ourselves. Every record has been another chapter in a story we’ve spent much of our lives trying to tell, and every chapter has brought us a little closer to understanding what it means to finally let go.
‘Niflheimr’ exists in the space between acceptance and surrender. It’s about confronting the impermanence of everything we hold dear, finding peace in the things we cannot change, and recognizing that even the most beautiful journeys were never meant to last forever. Having personally lost so many friends and family in the last few years, this song hits home for me deeply. The video itself is a love letter to the fans who have supported us and stuck by us through everything we’ve been through on our journey together.”
