Arch Enemy and The Black Dahlia Murder are about halfway through their Wrath Across North America Tour with Septicflesh, Crypta, and Thrown Into Exile. Below are some shots from the tour stop in St. Petersburg, FL. The trek marks Arch Enemy’s first North American dates with new vocalist Lauren Hart (Once Human, Divine Heresy).

Supporting acts Thrown Into Exile, Crypta, and Septicflesh kicked off the night with whirlwind performances that got the crowd moving. Heads were banging, bodies were moshing and soaring over the barricade, and horns were held high relentlessly.

Following the early onslaught, The Black Dahlia Murder brought their trademark melodic death metal beatdown, contrasted by the fun and light-hearted spirit showcased by the stage banter. They brought out some rarities that they haven’t performed in years (“Miscarriage” off of 2005’s Miasma and “Christ Deformed” off of 2009’s Deflorate), alongside set staples (“Statutory Ape”, “What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse”).

Arch Enemy came out in full force with new frontwoman Lauren Hart. You wouldn’t know that Hart – who joined the band in February and has released one single with the band so far (“To the Last Breath”) – was a newcomer to the group given her stage presence and chemistry with the band. It was immediately visible that she is having the time of her life on stage with the band who, in her own words from the stage, inspired her to pursue metal vocals. The rest of the band were all noticeably in high spirits, putting on a tight performance that married their earlier and modern eras.
