The Sleeping Sun EP marks the next grim chapter in Worm Shepherd’s rapid ascent since their striking 2021 debut album In The Wake Ov Sol. Across 5 epic tracks, the band showcase their trademark blend of destructive deathcore and cinematic orchestral arrangements.
On the creation of the EP, guitarist Tre Purdue shares:
“This EP has a ton of layers to it. We wanted to capture a lot of elements that we haven’t tackled before and retain some of the sound we’ve had previously. When I wrote this EP I wanted you to experience something new every song. Going from emotional melodies to bone crushingly heavy… I think is something we captured perfectly on this EP and is only a taste of what’s to come, as we continue to grow and experiment with our sound.”
Fans may recognize “The Frozen Lake Part II” which was previously released as a standalone single along with a chilling music video earlier this year. Now the song has found its rightful place within the immersive narrative of The Sleeping Sun EP, having racked up 55,000 YouTube views and over 153k Spotify streams.
