Official press release:
Massachusetts-based hardcore label 1126 Records is pleased to welcome Alabama’s WIELDED STEEL to their crushing roster!
WIELDED STEEL is a ferocious Alabama metalcore outfit forged in blood, sweat, and feedback. Born from the sweltering heat and grit of the deep South, the band channels raw violence through downtuned riffs, bone-breaking breakdowns, and war cry vocals. Their sound is a brutal hybrid of metalcore chaos and old-school death metal precision — a hardcore collision influenced by Terror’s unrelenting aggression, Dehumanized’s crushing technicality, and the merciless ferocity of Dying Fetus.
In celebration of their signing, today WIELDED STEEL drops a video for the new track “Your Words Mean Nothing,” showcasing the DIY Alabama hardcore scene.
Comments vocalist Jesse Clark:
“‘Your Words Mean Nothing’ is a song about the empty promises of prosperity that are slung around by the ruling class, to try and keep poor people docile and accepting. How they attempt to use identity politics to pit people against each other and keep them distracted and angry. It’s also about how those politicians, and billionaire CEOs, that engineer and profit off of the suffering of the working class are just people. People that can be made to face consequences. There are more of us than there are of them.”
