Melbourne metalcore quartet Void of Vision have set the release of their new album What I’ll Leave Behind on September 20th through UNFD. Pre-orders are live and can be purchased here.
The group have also released a music video for their new single “Gamma Knife”. The clip was directed by Cian Marangos and can be found below. Speaking of the song, frontman Jack Bergin says:
“‘Gamma Knife‘ is about my near death experience and the desire for clarity in the aftermath. To truly discover if everything I went through in the healing process would change me and everything around me for the better. I felt like the idea of going through radiosurgery figuratively felt like it was not only destroying the malformation in my brain but also a negative version of myself I needed to leave in the past.”
The near death experience Bergin is talking about stems from an incident that occurred in January of 2022. He suffered a seizure, awaking in an ambulance, as a result of an arteriovenous malformation (AVM); a tangle of blood vessels in his brain. He recovered and scaled back his activities but ultimately had to undergo surgery last year to treat a brain bleed from the ruptured AVM. A more detailed account can be read here.
