‘Declaration/Doomsday Cult’ is a two-part song. ‘Declaration’ is about a citizen drawing a line in the sand by no longer falling for the prescribed narratives being forced upon them. ‘Doomsday Cult’ is about the ease in which faith can be used to manipulate a mass amount of people to actively work against the tenets of their faith.
With regards to the video, Allen reveals:
“We wanted to highlight things that sometimes get justified by ‘moral superiority’ by using harsh images to help navigate the song. Luckily, we had an opportunity to work in an amazing soundstage thanks to my longtime friend Joseph White of Fuse-BK. Fuse is a virtual soundstage that uses state of the art LED video walls, which gave our director Dereck Soto the ability to immerse the performance into some pretty horrific scenes.”
