Versus have issued a music video for their new single “Stone Heart”. Listen to the track below courtesy of Metal Underground. The group said of the song:
“‘Stone Heart’ is a song that talks about how hard of a path life can be, especially when dealing with mental illness. When you feel like the ant under the magnifying glass, it can already be an uphill battle to climb out of and even harder when there’s a weight holding you down.”
“Stone Heart” is taken from the group’s upcoming new album The Cardinal, which is due in stores on March 3rd via Revival Recordings. Versus said of the upcoming release:
“The Cardinal is a very personal record to us. The entire record dives a little deeper in to the unique understanding of what anxiety and depression can feel like for an individual.
The saying ‘I’m hollow underneath my skin’ is a such an important quote because it gives an image of what this would look like for a person. When an individual is whole in the physical sense but his soul and bones are compromised. These are the songs that detail that moment of understanding and spotlight the sickening feeling.”
The record was produced, engineered, mixed, and mastered by Casey Bates (Memphis May Fire, Chidos, Pierce The Veil, A Skylit Drive). Brandon Boylan assisted with tracking, engineering, editing, and production. Mack Newman and Josh Kendrick served as additional engineers. Pre-orders are now live through MerchNOW.
