Welsh death outfit Venom Prison have debuted an audio visualizer for a new song titled “Celestial Patricide”. The track is taken from the quintet’s forthcoming studio record Animus, which is due in stores October 14th through Prosthetic Records.
The album was recorded at Vagrant Recordings (Dragged Into Sunlight, Electric Wizard) with producer Tom Dring and features artwork by Eliran Kantor (Testament, Sigh). Vocalist Larissa Stupar said of the album:
The album’s lyrics capture and portray various forms of fighting an oppressive force. One of them struck Eliran’s eye as the most livid out of them all. In ‘Perpetrator Emasculation’ a rapist is being force-fed his own genitalia. It’s not a secret that death metal art and lyrical content often involve violence against women and we liked the idea of turning the tables. That lyrical segment depicts the title and theme of the record very well and the visual execution makes your flesh crawl with vengeance.
Animus is available for pre-order now via the label’s webshop, Bandcamp, iTunes, and Amazon.
On the date of the record’s release, Venom Prison will kick off a tour of Europe and the U.K. with OKKULTOKRATI and Trap Them. Get the dates here.
