Guitarist Chris Alfieri said of the new record and direction as a band:

“This record is gonna feel like such a staggering departure for a lot of people. Honestly, to us, it was the direction we were heading in all along, with or without harsh vocals. Why not shorten the name and have a fresh start all together? To say it’s not as heavy and dark would be a complete lie, but we definitely take some chances in the other direction as well.

The record thematically has threads that oscillate between personal experience and looking through the lens of the larger experience of humankind recently…which has been grim, but at least we’re all in it together. To me the record sounds like anxiety, paranoia, apathy, exhaustion, and loss rolled into one, but with a touch of relentless hope that helps you get out of bed in the morning, or early afternoon.”
