In September, Tommy Vext and Tim Yeung made an announcement about a project they were working on. Everyone speculated they were putting together a new incarnation of Divine Heresy but that was quickly shut down leaving us wondering what the duo would do. Enter Westfield Massacre, the newly named outfit by Vext and Yeung, rounded out by Bill Hudson II (ex-Savatage) and Rick DiMarco (ex-Death Division) on guitars. Bass duties in the studio were handled by Scar The Martyr’s Kyle Konkiel, however he will not be joining the band. Westfield Massacre are currently in pre-production of their debut and have released a new track titled “Darkness Divides”, which you can stream below.

As a result of forming the new band, Vext has decided to leave Snot, he spoke with Metal Injection on the matter saying:

“The decision step down from Snot was mutual and ultimately the result of scheduling conflicts. While Snot is on their US tour, The Westfield Massacre will be in preproduction for our full length at Echelon Studios in Burbank, CA. Snot is like family to me. I’m very excited to see the guys coming back to the scene as a full time band. Everyone should go check them out on their upcoming US & European tours. They have an amazing replacement to pay tribute to Lynn Strait & will be performing their debut, Get Some in it’s entirety on both tours.”
