Speaking of the song, frontwoman Carla Harvey said via and interview with Ladygunn:
“‘Already Dead’ is about reaching a point where someone has put you through so much that they can’t hurt you anymore. There’s nothing left for them to take, and that can become its own kind of power.”
In the same interview, Harvey spoke of the group’s newly announced debut, Pretty Girls Do Ugly Things, sharing:
“Pretty Girls Do Ugly Things isn’t just about girl power women behaving badly. It’s almost the thesis for the whole record: good people can do ugly things, beautiful things can come from ugly places, and sometimes you have to get a little ugly to survive.”
