Guitarist Kirk Windstein said of the track:
“‘In The End’ is a great example of what we want Sun Don’t Shine to sound like. It’s got dynamics, melody and a bit of heaviness to it.”
Corpse Paint Records founder Andrew Spaulding, who also directed the video for “In The End”, also commented on the song. He said:
“‘In the End’ was one of those melodies that stayed with me from the moment it was written. I found myself humming it constantly. It carried a different weight—slower, more reflective—but the lyrics cut deep in a way that immediately made me think about the people we’ve lost along the way. For us, that includes giants who shaped this band’s very DNA: Peter Steele, Dimebag Darrell, and most recently, Ace Frehley.”
The track is set to appear on the group’s newly announced full-length, Birth to Death. The effort is slated to drop early next year via Corpse Paint Records. CD pre-orders are now live via the link above. Exclusive vinyl variant pre-orders will follow shortly and be available via Revolver.
