Official press release:

Third String Festivals is proud to announce the 10th Anniversary celebration of So What?! Music Festival taking place March 24th-26th. To celebrate this occasion in the biggest way possible, they will be taking over multiple venues in Deep Ellum on Friday, March 24th to kick off the weekend and then bring some of the best names in the scene to AirHogs Stadium (formerly known as QuikTrip Park) on Saturday and Sunday (March 25th and 26th). The festival will feature lots of 10 year album celebrations as well as the best current popular bands in the scene! The Deep Ellum shows will feature intimate “secret shows” from some of the festivals headliners as well plenty of other bands! Festival owner/founder Mike Ziemer had this to say about the festival:

“When I started my business it was just something I was doing for fun, but creating So What?! Music Festival is what made it a career. This festival is a year round commitment to our fans to produce an event that’s worth them coming from all 50 states and over a dozen countries. This festival is their festival and over the last 10 years, the bands that have worked their way from a small local band to a main stage headliner is incredible. This 10 year is our chance to bring some bands back to life, celebrate some 10 year albums, and continue showcasing bands that have been with us since day one of their careers. To be able to bring this event to Deep Ellum and the Ballpark is the the best way we could possibly celebrate everything that this festival was, is, and will be.”

Different from other music festivals, So What?! is a “festival made by fans for fans,” stated founder and promoter Mike Ziemer. Ziemer and his company Third String Festivals had a vision to create an alternative music festival where fans could get away from the massively growing South by Southwest. The festival was designed for a more intimate ambiance for fans at a reasonable price. Located just a few hours shy of Austin, So What?! Music Festival delivers an array of musical acts including rock, metal, folk, dance, pop, pop-punk, and this year an all new acoustic stage (artists yet to be announced). Previous artists include Asking Alexandria, The Early November, Motion City Soundtrack, G-Eazy, Pierce The Veil, Cartel, Sleeping With Sirens, A Day To Remember, Taking Back Sunday, and more. As one of the fastest growing festivals in the state of Texas, there is no stopping So What?! Music Festival. Multiple announcements with all new artists will be revealed soon, stay tuned!
