Slayer have revealed the cover art for their upcoming eleventh studio release Repentless. Brazilian artist Marcelo Vasco – whose previous works include Soulfly’s Enslaved, Keep Of Kalessin’s Introspection, and more recently Machine Head’s Bloodstone & Diamons – worked with bassist/vocalist Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King on the work. Araya said of working with Vasco:
“We had a number of submitted ideas for the cover artwork. And we felt Marcelo’s was the best. We made some suggestions and the result is an awesome album cover.“
The band have also announced that the album’s title track will be released digitally worldwide this Friday, June 19th. King said of the song:
“‘Repentless’ is my Jeff tribute. I call it the ‘HannemAnthem’. It’s my perspective of Jeff’s perspective, it’s what I think…if Jeff wrote a song for himself, ‘Repentless’ would be it.”
The lyrics for the song are available online and can be found here. Repentless is scheduled for release on September 11th through Nuclear Blast. A limited Metal Eagle Edition (3,000 copies worldwide) of the album is currently available for pre-order and comes with the following:
