Environmentally conscious supergroup Savage Lands have released a music video for a new single titled “No Remedy”. The song features a guest spot by Heilung vocalist Maria Franz. All proceeds from the track will fund reforestation efforts in Costa Rica. Listen below and purchase/stream here.
Savage Lands was founded as a 501(c) 3 non-profit in 2022 by Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbueren and musician/activist Sylvain Demercastel, who resides in Costa Rica. The group is dedicated to raising money for reforestation and the creation of sanctuaries free of human destruction in Costa Rica. The effort recently made history by joining forces with The Clean Wave and Costas Verdes, marking the first time three active Costa Rican/U.S.-based NGO’s have banded together over a shared mission statement. Of “No Remedy”, Demercastel shares:
“We are all helpless to stop the passing of time. Each of us is left with only our memories. Whether we’re talking about the environment or our friendships, it’s vital that we appreciate what we have during our time on this earth.”
Heilung are also joining in the cause by donating $1 of every ticket sold on their 2024 U.S. tour in support of their reforestation efforts. Franz comments:
“Supporting what Savage Lands is doing on the ground in Costa Rica was an easy decision. But when Sylvain sent me ‘No Remedy’, there was a sense of melancholy to the song that really resonated with me.”
Prior to the release of “No Remedy”, the group released “The Last Howl” and “Black Rock Heart” via Season of Mist. Listen to all three below. If you would like to make a donation to the organization’s efforts, visit SavageLands.org/donation.
