Vocalist Piper Ferrari explains of the track:
“‘Lady Lazarus’ is me confronting misogyny head-on and refusing to shrink for anyone. The title comes from the Sylvia Plath poem, and like her, I’m pulling something powerful out of something painful. Lines like ‘Tender when I wanna be / Callous when I have to be’ came from recognizing how women are expected to bend, soften, or apologize just to exist – but also how we learn to harden ourselves for survival.
When I sing ‘Give me your dead stare, I eat men like air,’ it’s not about hating men – it’s about reclaiming the space that was denied to me, the anger I was taught to bury, and the fear I was meant to carry. This song is the sound of unlearning all of that. It’s rage, it’s release, and it’s me deciding I’m no longer shrinking out of anyone’s comfort.”
