The song was recorded by the late Steve Albini at Electrical Audio six months before he passed. On working with the legendary producer, Meyers comments:
Steve championed the medium of physical recordings, and that process inherently encourages the commitment to imperfection. I hope to embrace the randomness and grit of life, which includes our imperfections, as both their beauty and ugliness are often able to both inspire and teach us about our inner workings.
Regarding the song, she adds:
“Too many aspects of the modern human condition feel entirely over-labored and orchestrated. We have drifted far from our primal instincts and have gotten so distracted by the myriad tools at our fingertips that we forget that our human imperfections are the one thing that makes us special and unpredictable.”
The new track arrives with dates for Reba’s debut solo tour. The trek will take place in August with select dates featuring Ninth Cage and Kimi Malka Hanauer. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 13th, at 10:00 AM local time via RebaMeyers.com/shows.
