Opeth have given fans a new track to keep them at bay until the August release of their 11th studio album, Pale Communion. The band is continuing on the progressive rock trajectory heard on 2011’s Heritage, which may disappoint fans hoping for a return to the death/black metal sound the band previously employed. The new track, “Eternal Rains”, is very proggy and 70s sounding and is really damn good. I’ve never been big on Opeth but I’m definitely going to be immersing myself in their back catalog now because I’ve obviously been missing out. Check it out for yourself below.
