Washington D.C. deathgrind outfit No/Más have revealed that their new record, No Peace, will arrive March 13th through Redefining Darkness Records. The effort was mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis. Pre-orders are out now on physical and digital copies. Vinyl and CD’s can be purchased via Torn From The Grave here (U.S.) and here (international). Digital editions are available via the group’s Bandcamp.
Word of the band’s new full-length arrived with the release of new track, “Manic”. Singer Roger Rivadeneira said of it:
“The song was originally inspired by events that occurred with an old roommate who was schizophrenic, but with a violent twist. While my roommate wasn’t necessarily violent towards us, these episodes would lead to broken things around the house amongst other things. I correlated the writing of the song with how people may imagine what it would be like if they killed someone.
The tone of the song resembles someone having a mental breakdown and going through the thought process of what leads to them actually killing someone. i.e., not feeling like enough, being shamed by others, not capable of dealing with one’s own thoughts etc.. It’s definitely a reflection of someone with a troubled past that needs to seek counseling, but doesn’t have the resources. Mental health is very important and how we feel in dark times shouldn’t be brushed off.”
Guitarist John Letzkus offered:
“‘Manic’ was the hardest song to write — I have around 25 versions. It took a year. That’s all I think about when I hear it.”
