Guitarist Clayton Bartholomew said of the track:
“‘Prism’ was the last song written for the album. We had another song called ‘Undoing’ that we were planning to have on the album, but it wasn’t clicking vocally. ‘Prism’ came together quickly. We wrote it collectively in our rehearsal space in about an hour. I think we are all proud of the way it turned out.”
Vocalist Miguel Meza, who also directed the clip, continues:
“Within her lucid dreams, she navigates a world where imagination meets reality, yet anxiety sometimes lurks in the shadows, challenging her sense of control and peace.”
