Born out of the fertile soils of Melbourne, Australia, Psych-Sludgers Merchant have quickly cemented their place in the heavy underground of Australia. A punishing live show filled with low-end destruction has seen Merchant rise in the doomed landscape, culminating in live appearances alongside international and local heavyweights including Pallbearer, Ithaqua, Horsehunter, Watchtower and Holy Serpent.
Merchant‘s debut album Suzerain presents as a 50 minute slab of churning sludge laced psychedelia and nods to brutal cosmic doom. Recorded at Goatsound with Jason Fuller and mastered at Iridium Audio by Dav Byrne, with art by Michael Salas.
Suzerain is set to drop on June 25th through Snake Charmer Coalition. Physical pre-orders are available through the label here and digitally through the group’s Bandcamp player below.
