Killswitch Engage have announced their eighth studio record, titled Atonement. The effort is scheduled to arrive on August 16th through Metal Blade Records. A video for the first single, “Unleashed”, is now streaming and can be found below. Vocalist Jesse Leach said of the track:
“‘Unleashed’ is about inner passion and rage coming up to the surface. We all have that wild within that often stays dormant until a tragic event triggers and awakens it. This song is about that awakening within. I feel we were able to capture something raw and intense on this song and I’m stoked for everyone to hear it! The new album Atonement is a reflection of perseverance and passion through the trials and suffering of our existence.”
Atonement features a very special guest, with an appearance from the band’s former singer Howard Jones (Light The Torch) on the song “The Signal Fire”. Chuck Billy of Testament also guests on album’s fourth cut, “The Crownless King”. Pre-orders are available now via MetalBlade.com/KillswitchEngage.
