Alternative/hard rock outfit Jesse Smith & The Holy Ghost have announced that their self-titled debut will hit stores July 8th on Standby Records. Frontman Jesse Smith said of the album:
“Over the years I have struggled to find my place as a songwriter. I’m a fan of heavy music, but I’ve always been into all types of stuff. When I began writing these songs, I just wrote from the heart, with no preconceived notions of what they would turn out to be but it’s been an amazing experience creating music and art with so many dear friends. These songs are straight-up what I was looking to do. When I began, I wasn’t sure who I was, but now I know.”
The news comes along with the music video for the effort’s first single, “826”; check it out after the jump courtesy of Revolver. Regarding the music video, he states:
“We’ve been toying with the idea of doing our own videos for a while. We got together at our buddy’s production studio @recordatamp and ran the song live. It feels good to be in control.”
