Ghost have shared two new tracks off a 7″ titled Seven Inches of Satanic Panic. The first, “Kiss the Go-Goat”, arrived with a music video; while the second, “Mary on a Cross”, debuted via an audio stream. The pair are taken from their “1969 archives” when the band was fronted by Papa Nihil. A press release said of the 7″ and “Kiss the Go-Goat”:
“Back during the summer of 1969, an up-and-coming band called Ghost, fronted by Papa Nihil, played its first date at The Whiskey A Go-Go on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip. The show was to celebrate Ghost‘s first release on Galaxy Recordings, Seven Inches of Satanic Panic, the double-A-side 7-inch single featuring ‘Kiss The Go Goat’ and ‘Mary on A Cross’.
This original Ghost line-up eventually disbanded and the single, its original tapes, and the band’s only promo and live performance of “Kiss The Go Goat” ever filmed, were lost…that is until recently when the songs and the Super 8 footage were discovered and resurrected by Papa Nihil.”
The effort saw digital release yesterday through Loma Vista Recordings, get it here. A physical edition is set to arrive on September 27th, alongside a deluxe edition of Prequelle dubbed Prequelle Exalted.
The group are now out on a North American tour with Nothing More. That run will be followed by a UK/European trek with All Them Witches and Tribulation.
