The band said of the single:
“Unfortunately, the Koru Mindset seems to be a very successful mode of operation in this reality. After all, why should I not get a new superyacht for around half a billion dollars! No one can seriously doubt that there is a problem with how global wealth is distributed. Billionaires and Techbros expand their wealth as well as their political influence year after year. Often, they are praising the free market and fair competition as the reason why they got so wealthy, but is this competition fair at all?
The song is driven by the underlying narrative that there is no fairness if you just buy everything that you need to win and succeed increasingly: ‘Who’d knew you win the race / With the fastest car?’
Rhythm and tempo are more reminiscent of a happy and uplifting song. At first glance, this is a stark contrast to the lyrical theme. But more and more it becomes clear that this probably is what is going on in your favorite billionaire’s head: happy days while planning your next commercial space flight with your wealthy friends.”
