Speaking of the track, the group issued the following statement:
“Choosing ‘Embers of Wrath’ as a single for the album acts as a counterweight to our other songs and also is an outlier in the particularly brutal line-up of songs we’ve written for this album, with a slightly more laid-back, mid-tempo and melodic approach. Fleshcrawl has always been known for mixing in Gothenburg-style melodies with the HM2 work on our previous albums, and this track also kind of pays homage to that specific element of the band that we’ve felt is just as important to preserve in our current and future work as it was in the past. Just as its style, the birth of this song was also a bit of an outlier and was born out of a combination of Boris’ and Basti’s ideas as in the music and also the lyrical aspect, centered on the needless horrors of war and the suffering that comes along with it.”
