The final installment of DevilDriver’s interview series for their outlaw country covers album, Outlaws ‘Til The End: Vol. 1 is available. The episode, titled “Playing These Songs Live”, features members of DevilDriver and various guests from the effort discussing performing the songs on the album live and how they’ll translate to the stage and on the road. DevilDriver frontman Dez Fafara:
“I’d like to [take this out on the road], I think we’re going to see what happens… if we can take it out and have some of these guests… it would be great. It’s basically based on giving the fans something fantastic in the meantime while they’re waiting on another record.”
Lamb Of God singer Randy Blythe adds:
“Absolutely. If we were able to do a live show, particularly with all of the people involved, all of the guest vocalists, I would be super pumped on it. I don’t think it would survive a tour, but a couple of shows would be a whole lot of fun… we could do a hell of a show for sure. I think it would be a lot of fun.”
Additionally, the group recently released a music video for the track “Copperhead Road”, which features a guest spot from 36 Crazyfists vocalist Brock Lindow.
Fafara said of the song:
“I have always loved this story of running moonshine and running from the cops, and having Brock on this song was a smart move as his unique voice is absolutely perfect for it. I’m proud to have him on this record!”
Lindow adds:
“I’m grateful to be included in the barnburner that is Outlaws ‘Til The End: Vol. 1! ‘Copperhead Road’ was always a heavy song with a great story that encompasses all things ‘outlaw’, but DevilDriver ups the ante on this one and puts the pedal to Metal with their vision of the legendary jam. It was a tremendous honor to sing with Dez and the boys on this monster record!”
Outlaws ‘Til The End: Vol. 1 is scheduled for release via Napalm Records this Friday, July 6th. Physical and digital copies are available at this location, as well as through IndieMerch.
