Official press release:
North Carolina based label, Revival Recordings is thrilled to welcome West Jordan, Utah based Scrap Metal band, Charlatan to their roster. The label currently houses heavy-hitters like Alesana, Famous Last Words, and The Funeral Portrait. Charlatan is a unique clan defined by their willingness to embrace the odd and taboo. Armed with their goofy antics, songs that meander playfully through the spectrum of genre, and the poetic/hard-hitting musings of frontman, Grey, they are determined to stand out amongst a sea of cliches. Shawn Milke of Revival Recordings had this to say about the signing:
“Revival Recordings is delighted to welcome Charlatan to the family. I suggest you feast your eyes and ears on them now because there will be a day when you get to tell all your friends that you found them first.”
To celebrate the new signing, Charlatan has partnered with New Noise Magazine to unleash “Bone Dance” off their debut EP Nothing To Gain (released prior to signing with Revival Recordings. SLUG Magazine coins the EP as a whole “a veritable punch to the throat-it hits fast and hard, leaving one in a state of shock while gasping for air.” The editor continues by detailing “Bone Dance” as a lead favorite stating, “it contains a certain pomp, playfulness and dusky hue.” Fans can watch the exclusive music video for “Bone Dance” now via New Noise Magazine and be on the look out for a slew of announcements in the coming weeks!
