Peoria, Illinois rockers Mudvayne have been on hiatus since 2009, naturally people have been wondering whether the band will be coming back or calling it a day. Then came the firing of guitarist Greg Tribbett from Hellyeah, which no doubt fueled the fire since Tribbett is also of Mudvayne fame. Well, Mudvayne/Hellyeah frontman Chad Gray spoke with Revolver and answered some questions that fans may have been asking.
On whether Mudvayne is done, Gray said:
“I don’t think so. We all still talk. I’m not ready to put a headstone on anything yet.”
This statement corroborates a comment made in March on the band’s Facebook page which can be viewed below:
Regarding Tribbett’s firing from Hellyeah, Gray said the following:
“Yeah, man. He has always been my right-hand man. He’s been the back I look at when I’m writing songs and the sounding board for my ideas. When everything went sideways, it was like losing a great friend. I was filled with fear and I had mixed emotions. At first, I was like Goddamn, I don’t know if I’m ever gonna be able to do this without him.”
The interview can be found in the latest issue of Revolver.
