Carcosa will be releasing their new full-length The Axe Forgets, The Tree Remembers on October 15th via Arson Theory. Vocalist Johnny Ciardullo said of the album:
“3 long years in the making & we can now FINALLY share our new Full Length record with all of you on OCTOBER 15th! All of the singles you’ve heard us put out over the past few years were written along side the new record. So every song you’ll hear will be brand new music.
This album is very very personal for me. This is the most candid I have been or ever will be when it comes to the topic of my childhood trauma. After a ton of therapy and self reflection I’ve gotten to a point in my life where I’m very comfortable discussing my past and sharing my story. The events I write about across this whole record are true and real life experiences. I’m sharing them with all of you in the hopes that some of you who have also come from broken homes can find some catharsis and or peace from openly talking about shared trauma.
This is a concept record from start to finish, chronically going through events signified by the names of the streets I grew up on…the car I drove & the emotions I felt at particular times in my life. The record took a lot of retooling to make it flow like one big piece of music, I wrote the first half of the album on my own then got together with the boys to piece the rest of the record & that whole process took over 3 years to complete.
So we really really hope you enjoy all of our hard work and I truly hope if you have gone through similar life experiences like I have that you can feel more comfortable and free from the effects its scarred you with.
Once absent but whole again.”
The band have shared another sample of the record with a video for the track “Fade”. Pre-orders for The Axe Forgets, The Tree Remembers are now live via IndieMerch.
