Official press release:
Atmospheric post-metal outfit Blackshape have today announced their forthcoming EP Prismer I, set for release on Friday, October 24. Prismer I will be the quartet’s first body of work released via their new label home, Papercut Recordings, newly launched by creative powerhouses Leo Valeri (Brand of Sacrifice, Shibori Threads) and Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary (Fit For A King, Beacon Management Group). In celebration of the announcement, Blackshape has unveiled the first glimpse of the EP with the release of “Like the Fourth Wall”, their first track to feature full vocals, along with the accompanying visualizer. When asked about the inspiration behind today’s release, the band shared:
“‘Like the Fourth Wall’, the first single from BLACKSHAPE’s new record Prismer I, is about allowing your perspective to be broken so you can truly see and be seen by someone you care for. It’s about taking in every prismed side—the beautiful, the ugly—and choosing not to look away, even if it hurts you. It marks BLACKSHAPE’s first track to feature full vocals.”
