Armed For Apocalypse have selected THE EARTH IS BREATHING BENEATH ME as the title for their fourth record. Scheduled to arrive on April 24th, it will be the band’s first effort via their new label, Church Road Records. The group tracked the release with Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou at his GodCity Studios. Pre-orders are now live via the group’s Bandcamp.
Speaking of the album’s title, the band offered:
“The Earth is Breathing Beneath Me isn’t a metaphor. It’s a realisation that the ground beneath our feet is alive, and we’re all just passengers on its pulse. It’s that hum of dread and wonder that defines Armed For Apocalypse’s fourth full-length album: a towering, grooved-out, post-metal monolith carved from grief, power, and purpose.”
They continued, elaborating on the album’s sound and themes:
“This album is bleak. It’s got dissonance and aggression and every song carries a sense of melancholy and density beneath the surface. But there are also moments of meditation, and even signs of optimism woven in that make it feel like a true reflection of who we are as people.”
The first sample off the album has premiered with a music video for the song “FISTS LIKE FEATHERS”. Directed by Jon R. Moore, you can check out the clip below.
