Metalcore unit 156/Silence have slated their fourth studio album, People Watching, for release on September 13th via SharpTone Records. The effort was produced by Jonathan Dolese (D.R.U.G.S., Attack Attack!). Pre-orders are now live and can be purchased here. The group said of the record:
“People Watching is the culmination of the last 9 years of 156. From the very beginning of the band we set the goal to push ourselves and make sure no two records we put out ever sound the same. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve created, this album has been a long time coming. Welcome to the new era of 156.”
The group have also issued a video for a new track titled “Better Written Villain”. The video was directed by Nick Chance (Lorna Shore, Bodysnatcher) and can be viewed below. Singer Jack Murrary said of the single:
“‘Better Written Villain’ is a song that underwent heavy rewrites in the studio but we’re incredibly happy with how it turned out. This song takes you on a journey through almost every element of our sound and I believe it’s a good representation of what you can expect from the album as a whole. The chorus as well as the ending went through a bunch of revisions because Jimmy and I couldn’t agree on a melody until the very last second. But I think that’s what makes it one of if not my favorite songs on the record. A song that thematically was inspired by George Orwell’s Animal Farm. Specifically Napoleon.”
